Sourcehive X Coders HQ Build it Challenge 

Since the launch of one of our communities, SourceHive, the dev community in the UAE has seen a shake up! We have recently facilitated a key partnership with CoderHQ to launch a joint competition in the region: Build It!  
 

This enabled coders in the ecosystem to focus on developing innovative solutions to critical issues within four key sectors: Transportation, Finance, Data Security, and Energy. The participants were given a chance to learn from key industry experts, exchange ideas with fellow team members and the wider community. Why?  
 

• Build It ignited community members to think out of the box and come up with never seen before creative solutions to societal problems.  

• Strengthened underrepresented communities, encouraging developers to apply their skills for a greater good, and fostering a culture of experimentation and rapid iteration. 
   

Build It culminated with an award ceremony where the most ambitious teams  presented in front of a judging panel. 
 

Our judges - Hood Khizer, Muhammad Kamran Faiz, and Keltoum Zniber - for bringing their expertise and energy to the panel! 

 

Congratulations to our winners! 

1st Place: S. Ahmed Masood and Kazi Ikram – for their FinTech project and a shot at a potential investment opportunity!  

2nd Place: Abdulkadir Saloum – for his Energy project in AI powered smart home management system. He won 3 hours with an industry expert and business coach. Furthermore, if he meets additional criteria as per technical guidelines, he will go on to secure a pilot with Trouve Labs.
 
3rd Place: Moussa ARAB for leading his team for Facial Recognition Access Control and Attendance Machine where they also built a working prototype. His team included Ehab Mansour, Muhammad Shariq, and Subhan Ali
